There’s something about a full moon that always makes me reflective.
Maybe there’s something to that, or maybe it’s simply because the moon itself is at its most illuminated — but either way, it always seems to pull me inward.
This one happened to be a full moon in Aries, which feels almost too fitting. Aries is associated with identity, independence, beginnings, and the courage to move toward what feels true to you. And without really knowing any of that beforehand, I found myself thinking deeply about exactly those things: who I am, what I’m building, and why I’m building it.
Lately, I’ve been thinking a lot about purpose.
Which is not exactly a light thing to think about.
I think there’s comfort in remembering that life is short. That maybe we’re here to learn and grow and have fun and love people and experience as much as we can. Maybe that really is enough.
But lately, I’ve found myself wondering if there’s something deeper underneath all of this work I’ve put into Whxte. Why this business? Why jewelry? Why did this particular thing find me at the particular moment in my life that it did?
Whxte started when I was rebuilding myself.
When I started Whxte, I was in an incredibly vulnerable place.
I was going through a divorce with a young child. I was lonely. I was single. I was broke. I had no idea what direction my life was going to take.
And somewhere in the middle of all of that, I started building this.
At the time, I don't think I understood what Whxte would become. Honestly, I still don't.
But looking back now, I can see that this business became one of the silver linings of that chapter of my life. It gave me something to pour myself into when so much around me felt uncertain. It gave me something that was mine. Something I could create and grow and believe in.
And somewhere along the way, I grew with it.
I think that's part of why jewelry has come to mean so much more to me than simply making beautiful things.
Jewelry marks things.
A marriage. A divorce. A birth. A loss. A beginning. A version of ourselves we're leaving behind. A version we're becoming.
We wear these tiny objects through entire chapters of our lives, and eventually they carry stories that are so much bigger than the materials they're made from.
Maybe that's part of my purpose with Whxte.
Not just creating jewelry, but creating pieces that become part of people's stories.
And maybe sharing more of mine, too.
Sometimes you share, and it feels like crickets.
I've struggled with this part.
I've wanted to share more of myself for a long time — the business, the jewelry, the way I style things, the places I go, motherhood, starting over, building something from nothing, all of it.
But putting yourself out there can feel incredibly vulnerable.
Sometimes you post something you're excited about and... crickets.
And it's hard not to interpret that as, Nobody cares.
Or, Who am I to be sharing this?
Or maybe the worst one: This is embarrassing.
So I've held back.
I've waited until things looked better. Until I had more followers. Until the business was bigger. Until I felt more established. Until I felt like I had earned the right to have something to say.
But I'm starting to realize that maybe the value isn't in showing up once everything is figured out.
Maybe the value is letting you see the becoming.
I'm done waiting until I'm ready.
The truth is, I don't have a perfectly packaged lesson to share.
I'm still figuring it out.
I'm still building the business.
I'm still learning how to be a mother and a partner and a founder and a person outside of all of those roles.
I'm still figuring out what I want my life to look like.
I'm still questioning myself all the time.
But maybe that's exactly the point.
Because I know I'm not the only person who has had to start over.
I'm not the only woman who has looked at her life and thought, Okay... what now?
I'm not the only person who has wanted something bigger for herself while simultaneously wondering if she's ridiculous for believing she can have it.
And if sharing the messy middle of this — not just the polished end result — makes one person feel a little more willing to bet on herself, then maybe that's part of the purpose, too.
So, this is me starting.
Sharing more.
Showing more of the process.
Talking about the jewelry and the meaning behind it. Talking about building a business. Talking about style and travel and motherhood and reinvention and all of the things that make up a life.
Not because I suddenly feel completely confident doing it.
But because I don't think I want to wait for that anymore.
Maybe there's something fitting about realizing all of this under an Aries Full Moon — a moment associated with identity, beginnings, and having the courage to step forward as yourself.
I don't know exactly where Whxte is going.
I don't know exactly where I'm going.
But for the first time, I'm starting to think that maybe I don't need to know.
Maybe the purpose isn't having the entire story figured out.
Maybe it's being willing to live it — and to let yourself be seen while you do.
Fine jewelry with a feeling.
And maybe a little more of the story behind the feeling, too.
